FAQ’s Active Schools and Sports Development

Will Active Schools be running extracurricular sport and activity when schools return?

The Active Schools team returned at the start of August, in order to allow them time to plan for the return of the school pupils. The programme will restart from the beginning of the new school term on a phased basis in line with Education, sportscotland and National Governing Body (NGB) guidelines.

When will the football development programmes resume?

Football development and participation programmes will start back in line with Scottish Football Association guidance. We don’t anticipate a return of LiveArgyll football programmes before September.

When will the children’s gymnastics classes start back up again?

Children’s gymnastics sessions, as per Scottish Gymnastics guidance on indoor sport, will not happen before the 19th of October, in line with our children’s fitness classes and swimming lessons.

How will Community Sports Hubs be supported?

Our Community Sports Hub Officer is running virtual hub meetings to support clubs back to participation following COVID-19.
