DESCRIPTION:The Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Conductor Lucas Macias come to Oban with a live performance of Summer Classics.\n\n\nSummer Classics \n \nRadiant melodies\, dazzling agility and theatre from first note to last: join us in a joyful celebration of wind virtuosity and symphonic brilliance. \n \nAn evening of wit and Mediterranean warmth awaits you\, as Lucas Macias conducts a programme that lets our wind soloists truly shine. \n \nRossini sets the stage with the effervescent Overture to The Silken Ladder\, a playful curtain-raiser brimming with comic charm. Weber then puts the clarinet in the spotlight: SCO Principal Maximiliano Martín brings virtuoso dash to the lively Concertino\, before SCO Principal Bassoon Cerys Ambrose-Evans joins him for Stamitz’s elegant double concerto\, full of conversational interplay and Classical poise. \n \nWeber’s Andante & Rondo capriccioso gives the bassoon its own star turn\, combining tender song with irresistible flair.
