Nominate local heroes in LiveArgyll Sports Awards

The time has come to nominate hero volunteers who give their time and energy to helping others, making it possible for people of every age group and ability level to take part in sports in Argyll and Bute. LiveArgyll, the charitable trust responsible for libraries and leisure facilities in the area, puts on the LiveArgyll Sports Awards each year in partnership with sportscotland.

The awards aim to recognise the valuable contribution of volunteers in the area, without whom many of the most popular programmes of sports and fitness could not take place. This is an opportunity to thank the coaches, young leaders, volunteers and other selfless individuals who make a difference, as well as celebrate outstanding achievements by our local teams.

Categories are:

  • Adult Youth Coach
  • Young Coach
  • Primary Young Leader
  • Disability Coach
  • Community Coach
  • Club of the Year
  • Service to Sport
  • Sporting Achievement of the Year

Nominations can be made by any member of the public and the deadline is Friday 16th August. More information on each of the categories and the form can be found here. Nominations must be for work done in the 2018/19 period and must be supported by suitable evidence.

This is the chance to make sure volunteers are thanked properly. We all know someone who makes a big impact by giving their time, and it’s up to you to nominate them. Whether it’s the lead coach working with a junior football team, the person who washes sports kit ready for the next big event, or an individual who gives their time to assisting disabled children in an active life, make sure they are recognised for the heroes they are.
