What we do

As a local charity liveArgyll delivers a broad range of services across Argyll and Bute in the heart of our communities. This means we can offer many different roles in different settings, creating unique opportunities for people who want to develop and grow their skillset.

Leisure and Sport

If you have a passion for wellbeing, sport and fitness then we could have the perfect career for you. We run 5 leisure facilities across Argyll and Bute so we have a wide range of jobs at all levels from Senior Duty Officers to Fitness Coordinators and instructors, Swimming Coordinators and Teachers and Lifeguards and LiveArgyll Assistants. We also offer modern apprenticeship opportunities.

Our sportscotland funded Active Schools programme creates high quality experiences in schools and communities so young people can take part in sport and physical activity. We have a variety of roles from Managers to Co-ordinators and Assistants. Our Sports Development programme employs a Football Development Officer, Senior Sports Coach for gymnastics and coaches for a range of activities.

Libraries, Archives and Museums

Libraries are about books but so much more. They’re a safe spaces and the hub of communities. Roles include Library Officer, Supervisors and Assistants, Library Development Coordinator, Bibliographic Services and Local Studies Librarian. Our archives service also holds and preserves records for the council and wider organisations and tells the story of how Argyll and Bute has developed over centuries and roles include Archivist and Clerical Assistant.

Local Archives look after a huge variety of historical local information, roles here include archivist, Administration and Customer Service.

Campbeltown Museum tells the story of Kintyre through its collection of archaeology, fine art, natural sciences and social history. We have a unique partnership with Charts to manage the museum which includes a Modern Apprentice role.

Community Learning

Could you help empower people to make positive changes to their lives through learning? If so this could be a career path for you.  Community Learning covers Youth Work and Adult Learning and roles including Team Leaders and Community Learning Workers.

Music, Arts, Events and Community Venues

Halls, Events and Community Centres cover many different parts of the business from live music to weddings and local group room hire.  This requires many different roles including Receptionists, Event Staff, LiveArgyll Assistants and Technicians.

Wider Business Development and Support

Our wider support teams undertake roles including IT, HR, finance, administration, training, commercial development, programming, wellbeing and marketing.
