The Queen’s Green Canopy

As part of The Queen’s Green Canopy project, liveArgyll has received a rowan tree and commemorative pot in recognition of the Trust’s engagement with the local community. The tree and pot are from the Tree of Trees sculpture, which was on display outside Buckingham Palace during Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

A tree planting ceremony was held at The Queen’s Hall Dunoon on Tuesday 22nd November, attended by Maurice Corry, Provost of Argyll and Bute, Lt Col Peter McDill, Depute Lord Lieutenant for East Cowal and Dunoon and Andrew Nisbet, Chair of liveArgyll among others.

We are grateful to pupils from Dunoon Grammar School for coming along and assisting with planting the tree – Head Girl Lily McCrossan and Head Boy Aidan Clark – and to Barnaby Munns for playing ‘Rowan Tree’ on the pipes. Thanks also to our very own Eleanor McKay MBE for her valued contribution.
