Kintyre Youth Action Group: Easter GIVE Programme

Well done to Kintyre Youth Action Group members who recently completed their Easter ‘GIVE’ programme.

‘GIVE’ stands for ‘Get Involved through Volunteering and Engagement’ and is a long-running youth volunteering programme facilitated by liveArgyll’s Community Learning Youth Work Team.

Action Group members from Campbeltown and Tarbert complete regular community volunteering projects and their Easter ‘GIVE’ programme is a successful annual highlight.

The groups are supported to plan their own volunteering activities and reward trip. This Easter in Kintyre, young people carried out local litter picks, made generous foodbank donations, and hosted fun activities for elderly people in care homes and sheltered housing complexes to help combat loneliness.

Action Group members gain Saltire Awards for their Action Group-related volunteering work. Following their volunteering activities, the group enjoyed a fun reward day trampolining, shopping and defying the laws of gravity at the Climb Zone at Braehead. A good time was had by all, and it was a suitable reward for the Action Group’s continued efforts to promote the power of youth action.
