Improve your physical and mental health

When it comes to improving your physical and mental health, going to the gym can be one of the best decisions you make. Not only does exercise promote weight loss and muscle gain, but it also helps reduce stress levels and boost your mood.

Regular exercise can help you achieve a healthier body weight and reduce your risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. In addition, going to the gym regularly can improve your overall fitness and help you feel more energized throughout the day.

Aside from the physical benefits, hitting the gym can also have a positive impact on your mental health. Exercise has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and can help improve cognitive function and brain health.

Why not give it a try and see what a difference it can make in your life?

Chloe’s Story

Before I joined the gym nearly two months ago, all I did was eat, sleep and work. I rarely left the house, rarely spoke to people outside of work and my anxiety, depression and stress levels were at an all-time high.

The staff at Rothesay Leisure Centre are lovely and have been so welcoming, kind and supportive. Whether you’re in the swimming pool burning calories at Aquafit or in the gym sweating it out, there’s always someone there with a smile on their face.

Honestly, going to the gym has changed a lot. My stamina is better and I don’t get so out of breath going upstairs, I can walk further without getting sore joints and I’m upping weights in gym. I’m not saying it’s fixed everything, that I’m the perfect weight, that I’m confident and socialising all the time, or that my mental health issues have vanished – that would be a lie – but what it has done is give me a routine. It’s given me a reason to get up in the morning and eat better.
