South Kintyre Street Sports 2024

38 young people travelled to Glasgow on the 11th April to attend South Kintyre Street Sports end of trip reward, which saw them enjoy a double session at Inflata Nation and Laser Quest.

The away day was on the back of a very successful 6-week programme of Street Sports held in Campbeltown, targeting pupils in P7 – S4 to take part in structured physical activity on a Friday night between the hours of 8pm and 10pm.

Over the course of the 6 weeks, the children enjoyed taking part in football, tag rugby, swimming, bowls, rounders, boccia and hatton boxing sessions.

Active Schools and Community Learning would like to thank our partners who helped support our programme throughout, by giving very inspiring workshops at the end of each session – Police Scotland, Scottish Fire Service, RNLI, Coastguard, Campbeltown Grammar School, Women’s Aid, KADAS, Aqualibrium and The Hub.

Finally, a big ‘Thank You’ to Campbeltown Community Windfarm Fund who kindly donated the funds to help make our programme not just happen but be so successful.
