The Summer Reading Challenge presented by The Reading Agency, delivered in partnership with libraries, will launch at all liveArgyll libraries on Saturday 24th June.

This year’s challenge ‘Ready, Set, Read!’ is all about sports, games, and play – keeping children’s minds and bodies active over the summer holidays.

We will be offering sport-themed events at many of our libraries (see below for details), including a crafting event. Score a goal by making your own blow football pitch or designing and creating your team mascot.

Other sport-themed events will include games like Boccia, competitions, quizzes, treasure hunts, activity sheets, and so much more.

Of course, we like to see our junior members enjoying themselves, so we’re on hand to help them choose books for the reading challenge, discuss their thoughts, and share with our wider audience. Reading is fun, and we love to engage with our younger members.

This year, we also offer The Mini Challenge for any pre-schooler who wishes to take part.
