Broken Ghosts and Highland Cattle – A Tale of an Author

We are delighted to have acclaimed Scottish author James Oswald join us at Dunoon Library at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd November, for an exclusive author talk about his latest standalone novel, the gothic mystery Broken Ghosts, penned under his pseudonym J D Oswald. It’s a rare opportunity to hear James share the inspirations behind his work and the journey of bringing this novel to life.

James is the author of thirteen novels in the Edinburgh-based Inspector McLean series. The most recent, For Our Sins, was published in February 2024.

He is also the author of three Constance Fairchild books: No Time To Cry, Nothing To Hide, and the latest, Nowhere To Run.

As J D Oswald, he has written the five-book fantasy epic The Ballad of Sir Benfro and the gothic mystery Broken Ghosts, published in September 2024.

In his spare time, James runs a 350-acre livestock farm in Fife, where he raises pedigree Highland cattle.

This event isn’t just an author talk; it’s a chance to immerse yourself in the literary world, connect with fellow book lovers, and even get your hands on James Oswald’s works.
