Mid Argyll – Adult Learning

In Mid Argyll, we provide a range of lifelong learning opportunities and group activities focused on wellbeing and skills development for life and work, as well as accredited courses that provide formal recognition of learning achievement. We engage in ongoing consultation, which enables us to understand our community and adapt as we identify their learning needs.

We are currently delivering a wide variety of projects, including

Lochside Enterprise Group: Lochside day centre supports people with additional needs. Adult Learning works with the Lochside Enterprise Group to develop their skills, improve their wellbeing and build their enterprise to raise money for their social fund

Community Learning Hub: Digital skills, employability skills, driving theory study, advice and signposting from Adult Learning and community partners, community connections, reducing isolation, relax with a cuppa and snack

Give Back Group: Qualifications Scotland Volunteer Award group based at the Snowdrop Centre, MS Argyll. Creating and making for their pop-up shop, volunteering for the food share, at events and various other centre activities

Let’s Grow Group: Health and wellbeing, mindfulness, learning in nature…

Currently at Ardfenaig elderly care home, volunteering in the garden and designing a wall mural with residents to improve and brighten the garden space, which they hope to complete, weather permitting, soon!

Community Engagement Workshops:  Summer and Autumn holiday workshops are inclusive of family learning. For example: wellbeing/mindfulness workshops, willow lantern-making, bunting-making with a sewing machine, wreath-making, Christmas crafts, and local nature learning walks. An excellent opportunity for Adult Learning to engage and consult with the community.
